Dr Stacey working with you on your journey to recovery - How does it work?

The first question to answer is, 'Does Dr Stacey's way of working suits you?'
I find that if someone has a chronic condition, my role will be to advise you along your journey to recovery. Rather than the traditional doctor-patient approach, this involves you understanding how you became unwell, as well as understanding the road to recovery. As such this is an educational journey.
In the first instance, I therefore suggest that you take a look at my educational website doctorese.com. A good place to start is with some of the free webinars, particularly the ‘Why Am I Sick?’ series (under ‘webinars and events'). This will explain my approach to wellbeing. If my approach seems appropriate to you, I would then suggest that you work through some of the online modules (you can take out an affordable one month subscription which gives access to all of the modules [not the paid-for webinars]). The modules that are especially important to work through are the ‘Toxins' and the 'Diet to Detox' modules.

How much do consultations cost?
If after working through the online modules, you think that my approach is for you, we would then have a consultation. Consultations are charged at £150 for 30 minutes.  The first consultation usually taking between 60 and 90 mins. Subsequent consultations need 30 minutes to one hour.

If there has been emotional, psychological trauma I normally also recommend that you see Sigi Lower (www.sigilower.com) for holistic massage (which also deals with deep emotions/subconscious issues). Please see Sigi's website for costs.

How often would I need consultations?
Following this, consultations can happen anything from weekly to 6 weekly for up to 18 months or more. There is email support in between consultations (as long as the gap between consultations is not longer than 2 weeks i.e I am happy to clarify advice given during the consultation on email but not to conduct a fresh consultation on email).

How long will it take me to recover?
People vary in their recovery time and some begin to feel well within as little as 2 weeks, others take 18 months or more. It is very difficult to say how long your journey will be. However, if I am seeing no difference or we seem to be making no progress after 3 consultations, I normally stop the consults.

What does the journey entails?

The road to recovery often involves periods where you will feel ill and periods where you feel very unwell. This is often due to your immune response to the 'interventions' you will use. The 'interventions' are usually diet and environment based changes. The up and down nature of the symptoms is the reason I also suggest that we get a Toxins Test at the start of the journey. This test is not essential, neither is it designed to diagnose a disease or condition. However, it does provide a baseline from which to work from. It also allows us to see how we're doing along the journey and to see that we are making progress. Please see my www.doctorese website  for a description of this test and the cost. I would then repeat this test at 6 months or 1 year into the journey.

Are the consultations covered by BUPA or other insurers?
In general the Toxins Tests and longer consultations are not covered by health insurers.
